I am a big fan of the iPhone. If you are looking for just a quick and simple lookup, it comes preloaded with google maps, and you can get google earth for free. These are not dedicated GPS applications though, for that you have a lot of choice.
I live in the UK, I have used the following phones
Nokia 7610 (with separate blue tooth gps unit)
Nokia N80 (with separate blue tooth gps unit)
Nokia E61 (with separate blue tooth gps unit)
Nokia E75 (built in gps)
The following have worked on the above phones:
Garmin mobile XT for E66, E71, E75, E90, N78, N79, N82, N85, N95 ...
Tom Tom mobile 5
Route 66 mobile 5
Route 66 mobile 7
I have a omnia HD and, even though the cell itself is not one of the best, the GPS reception is outstanding. It is amazing how this device works perfectly.
Nokia Maps (OVI maps) has free voice guidance for most of the Nokia smart phones and I think it is great. Nokia OVI maps has pretty popular fan base in Europe, so probably pretty good with POI's and stuff.
Hi I live in the UK and have Pda Phone and I recently bought Mio's Iphone Gps Car kit it worked really well so far for me and the signal is really good. Any one gone outside the Uk with it?
