When I go abroad I like to update all the POIs I shall possibly be wanting so, not knowing how to update as such, I have been downloading fresh ones. After a bit I was being told that I was downloading too much and had run out of credit. So no more downloads for me.
Is there a way I can get over this situation and update all my now sadly out of date stuff?
As I shall be changing to Garmin from TomTom I shall probably want to download afresh if that proves possible
Hi Harry,
Our extra (One-Click-Updates) does exactly that - you can update all your files in a single click. It packs all selected files as a single GPI or DB3 file. That extra feature is not available to registered users and developers.

You said that "that feature" is not available to registered users. Presumably you meant the extra feature. I would not want them packed as a single file anyway. Can I not download them afresh anyway?
Sure you can. Can't you download our CSV or GPX files? You can make your own GPI file from any downloaded POI file. Is there any error message when you press the download button?
Regards
Hi Mark, sorry about the time interval before my reply to yours. I forgot how to view my answers and did not see this. When I essentially asked the same question again, now I have a Garmin unit rather than the TomTom, I found the way and have given myself written instructions so will not forget it now.
Now my problem is that I do not know where to put the bitmaps so they appear on the sat nav screen. I have tried one in just about every folder and when I call up the POI to which it refers, the flag is where it should be but the bitmap is nowhere in sight. What am I doing wrong please?
Unfortunately I must be doing something wrong though I read the instructions carefully.
As an initial experiment I created a folder "POI for Garmin" and copied the downloaded files "JD Wetherspoon" and the attendant bitmap into it but could not find a "loader" so I recopied them into the Garmin POI folder and rebooted the GPS. Went to map and there was no sign of the Wetherspoon flag where my local one is. What am I doing wrong? Nor do I see any menu item on the Garmin for POIs. All this worked seamlessly on my old TomTom (though it was the maps folder) but that is dying rapidly.
I think I have cracked it. I realised the down loader might be a separate application, and so it was. I have tried one experiment, so far, and it has worked. Fingers crossed for what I shall do tomorrow (to tired to go on any more today).
