Bidgee,
You can use this map tool to find coordinates:

How do I use Co-ordinates Finder? What I mean is, I have found the intersection in Melbourne that I wanted but it shows an area, a large radius, around it. Can you lock in on an exact location of the intersection? If I want to use it again, how do I get straight back to Melbourne (or do I have to drag all the way down from Sydney, like I did this time)?

Single click (or click and drag) in any direction to navigate, double click on location to re-centre. Longitude and latitude of the map centre are displayed.

Navigation bar (the top left corner of the map) is for fast navigation (up, down, left and right). Zoom in and out with 2 buttons below the navigation bar.

The most important: co-ordinates below the map are Lon and lat of the map centre (or location which you select with double click).

Fast city selection will be available soon.

On the maps edit page can we add, Text boxes of the co-ordination of longitude and longitude, so you can cut & paste in the POIEdit online.
Just make in quicker as you have to write down the longitude and latitude everytime to add to POIedit online database.

Excellent suggestion...

Text box added to www.gps-data-team.com/map/ pages as requested.

New "Add" and "Edit" POI tools are added to www.gps-data-team.com/poi/ POI download zone.

How to use it:

1. Select location on the map (e.g. http://www.gps-data-team.com/map/index.php?lat=-34.04072&lon=150.7366&zoom=16 )
2. Use longitude, latitude and description from provided text box (just below the map).
3. Click on "Add" link (e.g. here http://www.gps-data-team.com/poi/australia/restaurants/index.php?poi_data=restaurants&file=Hogs_Breath_Cafe )
4. Paste data from clipboard, edit description and press submit.

Press "Edit" link if you want to edit your location.

I hope this helps.

Regards
