Still learning, I am using the recommended 3 folder system for my safety POI for a Garmin Nuvi 1450. Do I need to load the GIF and WAV files for each state? Currently I just loaded a single GIF and WAV, works in the state I am from. I haven't tried another state and want the same warnings there also. Thanks in advance.

In short, yes, you need the same-name data, sound and icon files (CSV, BMP and WAV).
Why don't you load the country level files?

Is it that simple (whole country files)?
Doesn't that slow down the functions of the Nuvi?
