Hi,

I have purchased a Navman F20, but the connectivity kit for updates is not available yet.

However, this kit only seems to be a standard usb cable and their software.

Could I download Navman's "Patcher80.exe" and use a normal usb cable?

Hi Paul.
You can use any USB cable to connect F20 to PC, but you need to purchase from Navman all the rest (software, drivers).

Navman F20 is not on our list of recommended GPS devices as it does not support customised POIs.

Navman F20 now supports Custom POI's and you can NOT download and install the Patcher80.exe and use it as it needs the F20 software installed to update it.

The SmartST software comes with the PC connectivity kit which as stated above isn't available yet. This software contains the program and drivers for the Navman F20.

I can also confirm that the Navman F20 supports custom POI's.

You need to buy the Navman F20 connectivity kit upgrade software buy it (£4.00) or download it from P2P networks.

Guys - when you d/load the service pack - it will ask you to extract into a director. Inside this directory is included heUSB drivers that will allow you to connect the F20 to your operating system via a USB cable. A standard digital camera USB cable is all that is required. When first connecting theF F20 to your PC you will be asked to find the drivers - provided you have extracted the F20 patch to your PC - the drivers are located in the USB directory of the patch. Once this is complete you will be able to update the F20 to the latest Patch.

To load the drivers for the F20, download the Service Pack.

Install the SP then goto the USB folder- that's where the drivers are! Once the drivers are installed, you can run the SP and the F20's firmware will be updated....good luck.

Hi guys

Is this download as per JDMils the actual software found on the disc or is this just the drivers?...I.recently purchased f30 but like to create my own points of interest. BTW can i also update camera positions?

hi there i have the f20 and a mini usb lead i also downloaded the smartst software and i have the drivers but when i try to conect to my navman f20 smartst tells me that my f20 is not conected and i have it plug in and the usb screen is up on the f20 can anyone help please

I have the same problem a screen keeps coming up failed to connect to device. The device is on and the USB screen is displayed.

Hi,

STEP ONE:

You need to go to My Computer, Program Files, Navman, Find the USB folder... that is where your drivers are...soo....

STEP 2:

Go to device manager (Windows Key and Pause Break then hardware tab), at the bottom is your USB's - find the one with the yellow "?" and right click, properties.. driver, update driver. Use the location of step one for the driver update...easy...

I have loaded the F20 drivers etc and got a connection but I presume I need the SmartST software on my PC to install POI etc?
Where can I download this from?
