Found out while on my trip to Cairns that the Navman 720 has a faulty time zone file and that you will need to get it updated from Navman.
When you cross the border to Queensland the time reverts back to the default time when you first start the device when new or you reset the device.

Sorry, Navman doen't has a link to fix this problem. Had to take the unit in to get the updated time zone file installed.
I will give them top marks for installing this file. Only took a few minutes and so far it seems to work.
Wish that Navman would provide a link for the update.
Regards
Tony

Have now recieved the web page address from Navman.
You have to click on the ICN icon, then find the ICN720 icon then the SmartST 2006 icon and then the article which will take you to the page that has the file.
Like you said the site is not very user friendly.
Regards
Tony

Hi Tia,
To install this update just follow the directions that are given on the web page that tells you where to download the file.
You have to have Microsoft ActiveSync install on the computer to be able to install the update. As long as you follow the instructions the update is very easy to install.
If you still find it hard to do and you live in Sydney then you can take the unit to Navman and they will install it for you.
Regards
Tony

Hi Richard
Sorry about that, I was not really with it that day.
You have to go to the Navman Website below and follow the links to the technical support page. (Sometimes the link does not work, but keep trying)
You have to do exactly like they say. Open up file explorer once you have Microsoft ActiveSync going with the unit. Then find the directory as per instructions and replace the file with the 1 you had downloaded from Navman.
Regards
Tony

Hi Richard
If after trying and you can still not get the file to work you can private message me and I will give you my email address and take you through it.
If you are on Skype I would be able to talk you through it.

OK... fix for time zones on Navman iCN 720:
1. click here and SAVE this file to your computer: http://www.gps-data-team.com/pda-gps-navigation/links/date_time_zonespec.php
to download the date_time_zonespec.csv file to your desktop.
2. Copy saved file to DiskOnChip > Navman > SmartST_CE >Data
3. Disconnect the device from the USB cable and allow the software to load
4. After this, head outside and wait for a GPS signal. After maintaining a GPS signal for approximately 20 minutes, the ICN 720 will automatically adjust itself and display the correct time.
Easy.

Well, things do get complicated from here...
I found the information on how to update the time zone problem on the navman site...I also discovered' where that file is located on my 720...BUT, their "link" to that time zone file only brngs up data inside an excel spreadsheet, I expected to get a csv file, but all i got was a page of data....so, very UNhelpful navman !!!!!
if anyone has the actual file, I would love to get a copy of it
