Hi, I did a direct upload which sent the files into the favorites.
Is there a way to delete these other than one by one

You may try to export/edit current.gpx (located in GARMIN:Garmin/GPX/Current.gpx), remove extra lines and save it back to GARMIN:Garmin/GPX/Current.gpx.
I did the same once. I found this: http://www.gps-data-team.com/pda-gps-navigation/topic/16.html (too late)
You may try to add/edit/remove current.gpx favorites with this Garmin POI editor.
