l bought my GPS on ebay , it didn't say what make it was and the manual came writen in chinese , l donloaded a translated copy of the manaul but it still doesn't tell me what make it is. the "cmos chip" is a samsung s3c2440a-40 and the operating system is Win CE 5.0. Could you help me find make and model so l can update maps and software. |

I am very pleased with mine, to be honest I am not dissapointed with it at all with regard to how well it works.
Where are you from ?
What type of nav software is it Route66 ?
I bet you did not get a CD with the software either 
I have a few things which I could email to you if you get back to me

I have also purchased a Route 66 GPS and have I think discovered it is a SAMSUNG 2440a 3.5".
I require a USER MANUAL as the one they supplied is different than the unit i purchased
Hope someone out there can help me

If it's running WinCE 5, it should run TomTom Navigator 7.910.9185 + iGO Amigo + iGO 8 all perfectly, so you have quite a choice available.

It is a pretty common platform configuration for GPS that, as someone above mentioned:
SamSung ARM2440A CPU Chip, 3.5/4.2" TFT LCD, Windows CE 4.2/5.0/6.0 Operating system.
( I have a model like that but bought two years ago, no major change since then apart from bigger screen and more storage)
The point is what GPS application and map is on yours, based on that platform. In general it can be any thing (Garmin, R66,...). This is only you can tell, maybe by the logo when you start GPS application.

I have GPS with same specifications.
It has Lexstar logo in the beginning while I turn it on.
It works fine with the current maps of metro cities of India, but I want updates.
Can you help regarding that ?
I donot mind changing the sofrware to Tomtom or whatever.
