Hi
Our forums with links to free data and links at the bottom of this page are good starting points to buy or to get free nuvi data.

The "POI Files" link at the top of the stage will start you off, it's pretty self explanatory from there.

Like learning any new program, do your own due diligence by spending time learning what is offered by this site. POI files are here that cover just about anything, anywhere (speaking from my own experience(s) on this site for areas in NY, NJ, CT, MA, RI). It is AWESOME to be alerted to Speed cameras/traffic cameras in the area I'm traveling.

I don't run lights anymore, but it's nice to know that green light you are approaching also clocks how fast you are going. New York City is notorious for nickel & diming us for every $buck they can squeeze out of us Mad I'd lay good odds on them mailing a ticket to someone for going under a green light doing 30 or 35 in a 25 MPH zone.

Just my $.02

The process is self explanitory once you know how, but rather confusing until you do. There are some points along the way that are not intuitive for the Garmin POIs. Would be nice to have each of the options explained in a beginers how to guide (or be pointed to where it is).

I found that this website is a bit counter-intuitive on the download screens (selecting filters, then selecting other filters on download page)

but ultimately it does work well - and looks like there is a massive support network here on the forums
