Hi,
I've downloaded the Garmin files for my Nuvi 310. I run the POIloader: POI Loader for Windows, Ver. 2.5.3 (10.10 MB)
After running it I get a popup message saying:
"there was a problem transferring your custom POI's to your device Please try running POI loader again".
I'm using vista home premium which is connected to the nuvi by the USB cable. I can use explorer to see what files are on the nuvi, so I have connectivity. POIloader finds the device.
The message tells me nothing, would you have any ideas what the problem might be?

I used this loader under XP and it transferred all files correctly. So it looks like Garmin doesn't support Vista, at least the home premium version

| I've tried the POI loader on my Garmin c550 and have Vista Home Premium and have no trouble.

| I just downloaded the latest Garmin POI loader released on 28/3/08 and it worked okay with Vista Premium 32bit.

I have the poi's in csv format on a sd card, how do i get the nuvi 660 to read them PLEASE

| Just got a NUVI 260W and was able to use POI Loader (latest version from Garmin site) on Vista.

What I have found is that with Vista, I had the problem since the CSV files were readonly for the current OS user logged in.
Once I copied the files to another folder, or changed their security settings to make it writable to the current user, the POI loader worked correctly on those files.
Make sure the POI files are writable by the current OS user logged in.

I'm using vista home premium, what I have done is I convert my csv files to garmin gpx files using url=http://garmin.gps-data-team.com/poi_manager.php]POI Edit for Garmin[/url].
I put these files into 1 directory, then using POI Loader send them to my SD card in my nuvi760.

| One thing that should be taken care, if you add more POI on second time, it will overwrite all written before. So put all once in a folder and do it in one through.

| Works for transferring to both the Nuvi 760 and MapSource without any problems. I tested in on both Vista Home Premium 32bit and 64bit.

Hi
I had similar problems in trying to install the POI Uploader. In the end I merely transferred the file to the Desktop and ran it from there. It then installed perfectly. I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit.

| I've used Vista from the get-go with my Nuvi 660 and have had no problems with POI loader. Have you downloaded SP1?

 Poi loader works fine for me on Vista,have you all the updates loaded etc hope this helps
