I bought a new Nuvi 250 yesterday for a trip I'm making.
The store clerk says you pay $150 bucks to go and update maps off the website.
The thing is, i have searched and i cannot find this update.
The current Nuvi 250 i run has no lane cove tunnel (and is probably missing some other things I havn't found yet). Where and how do I download a map update and does this cost money?
What are my options?

| have u registered your product online?? I just registered mine on garmin.com and was told there was a free update available - the problem for me is that i'm outside the US so who knows wot sort of customs charges i could be hit with, but u should b alright!

| The new maps are not out yet. The 2008 update is due this spring and likely to not be free.

The new update is easy to get, it costs 125 dollars! (what is costs to buy this machine here). Disgusting!

Hi,
If you just bought your system, you probably have the most recent version uploaded. However, you may expect some updates soon. Never got anything from them for free, so most likely you will have to pay fot it.

| I just bought a 760 and it came with the 2008 maps. I downloaded the 2009 maps free. The first thing I noticed is the new map contains the local speed limits for Switzerland.

| Recently bought Nuvi 250 and when I registered it I was informed that I was entitled to a free Garmin POI downloads. I downloaded the free info but am unable to install on to the satnav owing to lack of memory space. Uninstalled certain items to give more memory but still not enough. I'm now waiting for a reply from Garmin with suggestions, and waiting and waiting.
