Afternoon all, i uploaded the upgrade for tomtom home, everything went ok then i turned of the gps, next morning went to turn it on and nothing, tried the reset button, no response the battery is fully charged, tried a new back-up sim card still no result, any information for be great appreciated, from reading all the bad reports one thinks that a GARMIN might of been the answer

| I also uploaded and lost several features mainly speed camera's now cannot get back onto site and so hard to get a response did you find the same!!

| IMPORTANT: Backup ALL custom addons (voices, POIs). TomTom home updater will delete everything.

They have just release 2008 map in Australia and is free as part of the promotion.
But as soon as you download the map - It deletes the voice recognition feature on GO720!
What a crap product!

Yep
Exactly the same problem for me. Got the 520 and version 7.221 installed . Home version 1.6 did not recognise the device so I downloaded 2.3. All well so I thought after accepting the updates until I went to use the voice recognition when all I got was "one moment please" - after 30mins gave up and tried to restore back up I had made on 2.3 . OOOOH what a mistake!!!! This succeeded in wiping my tom tom with no back up and now does not work at all save the first turn on screen. So after 5 days it has gone back to Halfords.
PS Tom TOM helpdesk is rubbish. 3 different ideas all of which were not appropriate because of my current software version .... I am trying another but if that does not work I am going back to my map book !!!!!
