Hello people.
I have installed lots of POI's in my System.. its great !!(Kenwood KNA-G430AU)
Just need to know how the the System know that to bring up an alert when I drive past a Speed Camera and Red Light Camera and not for a Bunnings store and so forth... I can't seem to get the alert to come on when I drive past a School Zone...
Are their special keywords which the .csv file must be named ?
This is what I have mine named as..
Red_Light_Camera.csv
School_Zone.csv
Speed_Camera.csv |

James,
Cant seem to get an answer from anyone regarding updating POI's on the KNA-G430.
If you have already done it a number of times, maybe you might post the required instructions on this forum?
There is precious little info on this site about how to actually go about doing it.
Do you update the existing SD card?
Or do you have to update a blank SD card? Do you then reinsert the original SD card?
I know the moderator has some basic instructions but for a newbie they are more confusing than helpful. Seems like everyone has questions but no answers are posted.
Hope it is not too big an ask.
Cheers

skaposi,
I hope you have already solved this given it has been around some time, but if not what you need to do is download the Garmin versions of the POIs you want to an empty or new folder and in the csv format. Download and install a copy of the POI loader from the Garmin web site and use this program to load the POI csv files on to an SD card (2gb or less in size) The POI loader will reformat the csv files to ones suitable for download on to the Kenwood Unit. Use an SD card that is not your navigation software card so that you don't risk corrupting the Nav files. Install the SD card in the KNA-G430 and turn the system on. The KNA-G430 will detect that there are new custom POIs to down load to its memory and ask if you want to download them. Be aware that it will overwrite any other custom POIs you have on the system. You also need to adjust the proximity settings from the menu page Settings>General >Proximity Alerts to ensure the the Audio,Visual and types of alerts are on - seems to be a limited selection of the types you can select
