What maps did you download and where did you download them from. The navman F20 ships with the latest 2006 maps pre installed

Same as kingnat.... I downloaded Navman_F20_europa RAR file, transfered the files to an SD card, pluged it into my F20 and nothing comes up in the Maps menu except Australia.. Any ideas to why??/

I have heard reports that if you put the maps on just any SD card they won't work. I think you need to purchase them already on a card that Navman uses

You may be right grawoo... Checking other Forums on the subject, there are post with the same problem. Could be the folder structure or a system file on their SD card, don't think it's a different type of card used, thanks anyway. We keep looking for solution.

One thing you maybe able to try is to format the card in either FAT or FAT32 format first before putting the maps on it, Not sure if this will help or not. Funnier things have happened though so it may or may not work.

Hey Success... The files must be in Folders on the SD card. There are six (6) folders with Maps, POIs, system, Arcs, Polys, TMC also files in the route directory Navman.

I was able to find this when I stared to download a NON RAR file but a full directory one... AND IT WORKS.

Hope it may help others out there..

ok, I have done a bit of research on this topic guys and this is what I found out.

You have to look for the right sd-card with 13 connectors on the backside.

the original sd-card is a mmc+plus card, a "normal"card has 7 connectors.

One more question, what is the maximum size SD card that can be used in the F20.

I have tried it with a standard SD card, 9 pins not 7 and it works. Used a ScanDisk as well as ScanDisk Ultra II.

Not really sure vbee55 but I have read of people using 1Gb cards, but make sure they are mmc+plus cards and have the 13 connectors.

Hope this info helps

Thanks grawoo I have used a 1Gig card with no problems, Europe Maps require 950 megs, and that's not all Countries.

That's exactly right... Go here http://www.sendspace.com/file/s65cdr and download the maps for Belgium, Holland, etc and you will see what I mean about the folders when you unzip the file.... You don't need a large SD card for this one.

Hi Vic

I tested those maps from the download link you provided and I can't get it to work on my F20

I have copied the folder structure and also the individual files over to my 1Gb SD card. Then gone into preferences and maps then manage maps but they don't show up.

Is that all you did for yours?
