Garmin nuvi 3490lmt |
I like how thin the device is and the fact its screen is made of glass Its easy to use and comes with most cables needed. The screen mount provided is very easy to use unlike my old snooper sirius snp 500. I brought leather pouch to protect it all I need now is for zagg to make a screen protector |
No Mains cable No usb mini cable fitting so if you lose the one supplied you need to buy one from Garmin plus the cable very very very short. BMP images poor. Navteq supplied maps are so out of date, my local Morrisons is still in the wrong place its been open 6 years. My local hospital in the wrong street and postion its been open 3 years. The road my house is on is incorrect I have been here 10 years. Some other area/positions error go back over 5 years to. Navteq needs to fix these error or Garmin should get maps and data from another supplier |

Garmin GPSMAP 60c |
Brilliant unit. Fast, clear, customizeable. Can switch between route-planning road maps to topographic maps when I go hill walking. |
This unit pre-dates the micro-SD card units, so there is a limit to the number of map zones that can be loaded at one time (though I have not reached that limit yet on any single trip!) |

Garmin Nuvi 200w |
The device isn't that bad, I just use it for work basically and it does the job. |
The device can take some time to boot up if set to password mode which is very painfull.
Once it actually took about 25mins to boot to a point of allowing me to enter address where to go. |

You have to deal with Garmin - Map updates are a clean fortune - although you can pay a one off fee for as long as you own the unit. |

I have to admit the HD live feature works very well. I do like the 5' screen and the lane guidance feature works very well. |
Battery life is only 2.5hrs at it's best. so i'm constantly finding it more convenient to leave it plugged in the car charging, which isn't good for the long term battery life. |

TomTom Go 750 Live |
This unit suits my needs almost perfectly, which is usually for navigating on my own planned routes, often on UK and French secondary roads and back roads without having to constantly refer to maps and scripted route notes. Also great for finding unknown addresses at street level. A great improvement on my original TomTom910, which was often unreliable. Live functions very useful. |
None really, but a few extra features would be good - e.g. ability to view a prepared itinerary from the point of departure rather than your present location (important when you are planning a route from A to B, when in fact the unit knows your at C) I think the map updating costs and speed camera alerts are overpriced. |
