# Username GPS model Pros Cons Rating
1 nash1phi Pioneer AVIC F20BT Large Clear Screen resolution, quick re-route refresh rate, many extras IE: Bluetooth / DVD and Reversing Camera function built in Minimum Memory capacity for SD and Divx viewing from Either DVD or SD? 8
2 snag nuvi 5000 AV input ( doubles up as a reverse camera screen ) Reasonably easy to use No time display on the main screen, when routing doesnt show current speed 4
3 tony.keen Garmin Nuvi 670 great extra features - blue tooth phone, traffic alert, nice shape / screen and dash mount...superb value for lifetime maps
Pretty accurate mapping, can turn of voice etc
terrible journey planning...no journey options given like on Tom tom. Satellite receiving signal slow on start up junction details poor, and auto map scale keeps reducing resolution - speed sensitive - really annoying in very built up areas to find right turning 6
4 c764 Garmin 265WT Ive been using Mapquest for 7-8 yrs and so far (only had it 3 weeks) I can rate this device a Excellent. It has successfully helped me avoid heavy traffic in Boston, MA and getting through/around Hartford, CT. It cannot get a satellite signal in my home. Not a big deal cause I can just go out to the balcony. Gonna be a different story here in NY during the winter... 9
5 davidsampson1 dnx7220 i would avoid in built gps garmin in a kenwood radio. too complicated prefer tom tom to garmin faster to respond plus maps do not show smaller roads 4
6 petegunnell Kenwood DNX5260BT Kenwood DNX5260BT (uses Garmin for nav system) - its also radio, DVD/CD player, rear view camera, ipod player. Very comprehensive unit, excellent when space is a premium. Good quality. Touch screen. Not cheap - but not as expensive as some systems either. 7
7 harry3333 Garmin nuvi 765 Alternative voice output thru your bluetooth headset or a conventional 3.5MM audio output. Useful, esp when you have music turned on and people are talking. Screen is large enough for viewing. Voice output thru the build-in speaker is soft. Some pronunciation of road names are difficult to listen to. Menu interface could have been better engineered. Dont like the speech on recalculating and speed light warnings; would prefer distintive tones instead. 6
8 ProNavGDT3 HTC HD2 HTC HD2 running Co-Pilot Live 8 (not the special HTC version) runs beautifully, simple to use, I especially like being able to define the kind of vehicle I am using- car, RV, walking etc and the type of routes I want to use. customer service is excellent despite what you might read- response to emails the same day, phone calls are answered in english!! On-line manualcould be a bit easier to use and there is potential for confusion because there are special versions for HTC for example but the normal versions also work which might cause problems when updating later but probably not because of easy access to support. 8
9 cdmacomm Garmin 3790T Overall does as it says, nice slick looking unit. Large onboard memory and fast processor a big plus already! unit gets VERY hot when in car cradle and using, screen capture icon BLOCKS OUT battery level meter, voice activation- when using a 2 word command like good morning the unit will wake up after just saying good. Biggest NEG is NO OVERSPEED AUDIBLE ALARM, even my Uniden had this out of the box! 6
10 piquancy 3790T Voice command works effectively as long as the stereo is off. This is a small price to pay for the convenience of hands free. I quickly turn off the stereo, voice my commands and then turn it back on. Background interference limits voice command sometimes. I can get the unit to work with the stereo on but it is much more convenient to switch off the stereo. 8
11 justapilgrim923 MY-55t Safety warnings are good. But School zones should be warned in School times. Traffic and car speaker provisions are good Bluetooth device for phone interferes severely with the sound, causing sound abnormalities and even freezing the whole navman! If you have poor eye sight I would not recommend Navman! 6
12 akolokithias Garmin Nuvi 265WT The 265WT is a good value purchase it comes with lifetime free traffic, it has Bluetooth that you can use as a hands free unit with your cell, it can also dial any POI with a listed phone number.
The touch screen works well. It seems to be durable too, I dropped it a few times and all still works well. I just bought another one from Costco for only $169.
No much, Maybe some more gadgets like satelight info, games ect. 9
13 barrowrichard7 Garmin etrex vista hcx portable, pocket sized, good signal strength in poor conditions
colour screen, can add maps on micro SD card, easy to use
no real weaknesses that i have come across, i have owend this unit a year and previously had a Garmin Etrex legend, with no problems 6
14 brbidwell TomTom XXL 540TM 5 Screen size, Bright screen, good volume, fast calculations, Just found out I received a XXL530 in a XXL540 Box from BJs
15 bafiorentino Garmin nuvi250 Compact and easily portable

Clear instructions

Very suitable for basic GPS functionality
Slow in acquiring satellite Slow in recalculating Tends to avoid motorways. 5
16 g_vegys3 Tomtom Go 930 IQ routes, lane guidance, bluetooth remote control, good mounting, Rds-TMC info. Poor support of mobile phones that can connect to the device, expensive maps. You buy maps blind never knowing if roads that were built, say 3 years ago, will be included. 6
17 richard.teixeira Garmin Nuvi 750 visible screen, portable for travel trips and rental cars. Works well in sun light. voices can be annoying usually switch to British or others. Odd time get make a U-turn when not required with current maps updated in major city so sometimes worth driving through request until it changes in a half mile or so. 7
18 caesar Garmin Nuvi 3790t Great unit with the exception of the DETOUR ...see below.
VOICE COMMAND is a very useful feature.
Brisbane Maps: Detours are plainly ridiculous. Requesting a detour prior to Nudgee Road on the way to the airport resulted in several backstreets returning to the departure point (The Gabba) and then re-tracving the original route. The expected and obvious detour was left Nudgee Road to East West Arterial and direct to the airport. Obvious..and no problem to a local...but disaster to a visitor perhaps tight on time for a flight. This not a once-off. In the limited time I have been using this GPS there have been similar instances as I have tried to experiment with the capabilities. 7
19 phybrgj CoPilot HTC-HD2: Excellent screen
Co-pilot: cheap map download as was pre-installed on phone.
Quite easy to use
Not as easy to use. Not very good in city centre with lots of streets etc in small area 7
20 stevewaters garmin nuvi 1490T Garmin Nuvi 1490T
large, clear display. good range of tools and very quick to adjust to detours.
Using Garmins POI Loader software is a breeze: it would be nice if it also did conversion from other formats. 7
21 typhoont Tomtom One v3 Excellent directions from Hereford to Jena avoiding motorways. Regret lack of Route Itinery planning feature. 8
22 mander1141 TOMTOM ONE V1, V3 Garmin GPS V, Holux GPS Slim 236 (use with my Playstation) Holux seems to have fastest Satellite acquisition. It has bluetooth, but can only use it with Nokia phones. Otherwise I have to use custom USB cables to make it work with my Playstation handheld or iphone.
TOMTOM One - Cheap, easy to use and easy to customize.
GPS V: Old, but fits in your pocket and mounts anywhere with a little velcro.
Still looking for the ultimate GPS device. I guess it would be something like the GPS Slim 236, but with WiFi rather than Bluetooth, or both. 6
23 b.alberts 950 GO LIVE Navigation
User interface
Smart feauture (underground)
Display
Weight
Connector / Suction device
Touch screen unresponsive Audio quality poor Full route / up-orientation missing (compass) No safety cameras for Switzerland, i.e. impossible to plan routes fully (incl camras)outside of Switzerland. 5
24 jae Garmin 1490T Excellent pic. quality. Good Mway advance info for lanes/junctions.
Excellent sat. reception even in tunnels - on clear days.
Cannot set to lorry (for when towing caravan). Often hangs and needs reboot. Very susceptible to bad weather. Rear entry for in car power cord make it a pain to find a good position in my car 6
25 humbfig Asus A636 WM5, you can install any software.
It has an antenna, but theres no need to use it.
WM5 crashes a lot. Comes with Destinator, the worst navigation software ever. 7
26 TW_Dunn Garmin Nuvi 3790T Garmin Nuvi 3790T
Sleek Look, Very thin profile, Touch Screen very responsive, Voice Commands excellent, Greater Internal Memory for increased capacity Micro SD Card for expanded memory, Elevation indicator, Speed indicator.
Additional comments to come as I use the device more.
Vouce commands limited, FM Traffic Messaging includes pop-up ads, somewhat annoying. Additional Comments as I use the device more. 6
27 sanderson77 Nuvi 265WT Ease of use. Easy to add voices, vehicles etc. Easy to view. Touch screen works great. ETA accurate, easy to enter addresses and locations. Intuitive responses. No POI indicators on map while driving. You have to go search for them, too distracting while driving. 7
28 blondini2 Garmin Nuvi 255W Very simple to use and move through menus
good size screen
good 3d graphics display being pleasant on the eyes not difficult to follow routes
clear spoken language
will jump too quick to a place before completing typing in of address but correct 98% of the time can be abit slow to recalculate 7
29 whatever123 Navman v505 Large easy to use screen. Good route planning and up to date traffic events. Not easily customisable. MioMore PC software could be better.
30 sjfry3 Twonav Adventura Dust & water resistant, good screen viewing in daylight, multi purpose both vector and Raster maps Easy to use. With additional purchased software can add maps from most other suppliers. Screen smaller than some competitors, does not come with safety camera locations. Must buy software to add additional maps from other supplier 7
31 sheffordtrading5 nuvi 770 Great for travelling between North America and Europe. Would be great if it could strem the output to Bluetooth. 6
32 jorgen 930T Very easy and intuitive use, map update is good, it gives you the different optional updates that makes sense compared to Navigon that gives you more maps to choose from without explanation including old maps.
Small holder that are easy to carry
Small holder that are easy to carry
SD card are not combined with internal memory like Navigon does it. Reboots periodically TomTom Home wants to update itself every time it starts. Flimsy holder, wobbles a lot if you have stiff suspension, Navigons holder is a lot more stable. Double cable - in our days it should be possible to have the TMC antenna in the holder. 6
33 mynott_uk_d Nokia X6 Fully equiped phone. Excellent in all areas other than its slight weakness as detailed.
Prior to this upgrade I had a Nokia 6220c. A great phone with A1 nav. But the screen was minute. Hence the upgrade. Decided to stay with Nokia due to the free nav maps. Which Ive found to be absolutely excellent.
While an excellent smart-phone, the use of AGPS remains essential. 7
34 felicien 1490T I have owned Garmin Products since 2004 and have found that Garmin provides superb support - Battery not easily accessible for change by user - Map updates expensive. 8
35 kcoombe 1490T Large screen - easy to read.
Hundreds of pre-loaded POIs.
Quick response.
Easy to use.
No power input on mount - this means that device cord needs to be unplugged when taking unit off mount. Speaker distortion. No seperate volume for phone / alerts / navigation. 7
36 jhale716 Garmin 3790T Gets me there, once you have entered the location navigation is pretty reliable. Used in Australia, New Zealand and France with no trouble finding my destinations. My S90i is a dream to use compared to the MY55. MY 55 interface can be painfully slow and difficult to use. Not intuitive for entering destination and somewhat frustrating when you are required to enter a suburb it disagrees with. The S90i over the MY55 provided you have got a decent battery or power source as the S90i platform is getting old. 6
37 grahpp DNX 5260BT All in one GPS/Bluetooth/iPod/Radio/CD etc. Has option of viewing map while showing track playing or show music track info & next turn info at same time.

Satellite aquisition is always on, so knows where I am instantly it has powered up.
Slow to power up - 30 seconds. Won't play any music, accept any navigation commands during that time. 7
38 locdu Garmin 3790T The best Garmin GPS.
Thin
Compact
Easy to use
Full funtionLive traffic
Some time lost communication with Motorola Milestone. need to pair again. 8
39 tony- Nuvi 660T Garmin Nuvi 660T. Works first time, every time. I've never had a wrong nav from the unit. It finds sats in less than 30-secs. The traffic option has helped me re-route to avoid jams, or gives an indication of the length of the hold-up. Sometimes the screen is difficult to read in bright sunlight, but I guess this is a problem with most LCD screens. 8
40 jbdumas IGN Evadeo X60 Very nice for off-road (bicycle or pedestrian) travels. On road: on of the ugliest GPS guiding I have ever used. Detours of 10 to 20 kms are frequent. Many times finishing the journey in farms.... The business model of IGN (the producer of the GPS) is not very friendly for the user. ;You have to pay for any modification. In addition the road map available are 2 years old!. An they do not provide mobile speed radars position
41 penguinsbay Garmin Nuvi 205W Screen is easy to read
Very good navigation
Easy to set up and use
POILoader makes it easy to add custom POIs
No altitude display on main screen (its available on another screen, but I would like the ability to have it display on the main screen) 8
42 briansue MS Streets & Trips We travel full time in an RV and use MS Streets & Trips all over North America. It seems to be very accurate and it gets better every year. As will all GPS devices it is not perfect but once we learned how to use it we can adjust as needed. Can't hink of things I would change at the moment but I am sure there was something. 9
43 innet57 Garmin Zumo 550 Garmin Zumo 550 is just great for motorcycles, gloves on, gloves off - easy to use. The phone and MP3 facilities just make it extremely useful, provided you have a Blue Tooth Headset in your helmet. None that I can think of other than it is a little difficult to put on and remove in the secure mode, so I tend to leave it on wherever I go. I only fear that it will get stolen and Ill be perpetually lost until I can replace it. 8
44 nathanchor2003 Garmin GPSMAP60CX waterproof, shockproof, good screen, MicroSd card, maps, not touch screen, sometimes it takes too long to get the location 8
45 paulps3 nuvi 760 Hi I have this garmin nuvi 760 for a short time
and find it very easy to use, clear maping, easy to see map colouring, finds sats quickly.

Very happy so far.
The only thing i miss is the road speed warnings, red light camera warnings, which is not on this model or other models that I know of. 8
46 mch Garmin Nuvi 660 Simple and effective, very accurate routing...most of the time Difficult to find addresses with house names, still prone to using VERY minor roads unecessarily even though preferences say not to. 9
47 mtky Navigon 2210 Fast to reroute.
Good warning of road changes etc.
Compact, easily transportable.
Sound clear and loud if you want that.
Value pricing but sound construction.
Not very intuitive software, needs time to become familiar with. 7
48 themellors102 Pronav PNN 200 Accurate, well defined, clear.
Had it for 2 years and no intention of changing.
Bluetooth connection crap, but don't use it anyway. Would like to see ability to save route restrictions to saved journeys instead of en bloc to system. 8
49 drg55 Garmin nuvi 1350, Tom Tom Go 730 Quick satelites

Nice display and like the elevation feature.

Fonts are readable size.

For its price a good basic GPS that is nothing but a GPS.
No standby, but does boot up quickly without driver inputs. Doesn't default to local area when searching for addresses. Tedious process to load POIs. when you zoom out too many roads disappear, you should be able to set the sensitivity, might be ok for urban but bad for country. Speed changes colour when over limit, should be audible warning option. 6
50 cantout NUVI 360 Europe Nuvi 360. Very simple to use and it fits in my pocket It does not show speed on a route on the map screen; when using the speedometer feature, speed alerts obscure the speed 8
